On September 21, 2020 Alexandra Loprete, Esq. a representative of NJWLA, attended the New Jersey Reentry Corporation – Women’s Reentry Commission, held in Trenton, and spearheaded by former Gov. McGreevey.

NJWLA Board Member and Young Lawyers Division Co-Director, Alexandra Loprete, Esq. attended and witnessed impactful testimony from several formerly incarcerated women and leaders across our state tackling the issues of female recidivism and reentry.  Formerly incarcerated females face seemingly insurmountable obstacles as they attempt to re-enter society and obtain health care, gain employment, secure housing, receive mental health care, and retain custody of their children. This bi-partisan issue affects thousands of women and their families across the state, but has a disproportionate impact on black, brown and Latina women and mothers.  Learn more at https://www.njreentry.org/ .
